Thank you for stopping by.  As a songwriter, I prioritize honest lyrics and meaningful melodies, aiming to create music that tells real stories and connects on a deeper level. I enjoy storytelling through melody and straight-forward lyrics, drawing inspiration from life, faith, the journeys of those I love, and the paths in between.
 

Mevline is a heartfelt singer-songwriter from Texas, blending southern rock, country, and contemporary sounds with raw vulnerability and deep storytelling. Currently residing in Mesquite and originally raised in Waxahachie, her music draws from personal experiences, the journeys of those around her, and timeless inspiration from Bible stories—creating songs that explore mental health, faith, love, healing, and the quiet battles we all face. Her songwriting roots trace back 40 years to when she became a mother in 1986. What began as a journal to capture her firstborn son's life quickly turned inward, becoming a lifelong habit of chronicling her own. English was always a beloved subject, and putting pen to paper felt natural—eventually evolving into lyrics that pour out emotion with unflinching honesty. In January 2026, Mevline released her debut project, Excuses & Silence, featuring standout tracks like the title song, as well as "Please Keep Loving Me," "Joined at the Heart," and more. These songs showcase her gift for turning life's raw moments into relatable anthems of grace and perseverance. She's performed live at venues like Darren's American Grill in Garland, TX, and The Step Up, Dallas, TX, bringing her intimate, soul-stirring style to local stages. She also collaborates with fellow musician David "Stray Dawg" Pipkin, blending their creative energies to pursue authentic, story-driven music. What sets Mevline apart is her unfiltered approach: no pretense, just real-life truths wrapped in melody and faith. A childhood memory still sparks her smile—someone built a make-shift stage in her honor and gifted her a pair of go-go boots so she could perform like a star. Years later, a friend once told her she could "write and make the devil cry" and "write the wall up," words that captured her ability to build emotional fortresses and tear down walls with her pen. Confident yet humble, Mevline writes from the heart, hoping her songs meet listeners exactly where they are—offering comfort, reflection, and a reminder that they're not alone. Her music invites you to listen closely, feel deeply, and perhaps find a piece of your own story in hers.
